Screening Consultation:

Upon calling us, the psychiatrist will reach out to you for an initial screening consultation to gather preliminary information and provide an understanding of our services. This is usually by a phone call that lasts approximately 15 minutes. A comprehensive psychiatric assessment maybe scheduled next.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment:

This is a comprehensive initial clinical assessment that typically occurs over one to three sessions with the individual and the physician (psychiatrist). The goal is to review ongoing symptoms and look into any impairments. Standardized clinical measures and rating scales are often used as part of the assessment. Upon a thorough review, an individualized treatment plan is formulated.

Medication Management:

Medications are often needed in conjunction with psychotherapy for treatment of a variety of psychiatric conditions. Your physician (psychiatrist) will meet with you to have in in-depth discussion of different treatment options including medications.

Therapy:

Psychotherapy is regarded as one of the pillars of treatment. Dr. Bhatia will work with you to provide a variety of psychotherapeutic options (including Cognitive behavioral Therapy i.e. CBT)
best suited for your needs to support your recovery.

Forensic Evaluations:

Dr. Bhatia has specialized training in Forensic Psychiatry. He completed a forensic fellowship at
Georgetown University. He is available to provide medico-legal opinions, forensic assessments on expert witness testimony on a case-by-case basis. Attorneys and law firms are invited to reach out directly for forensic consultations.
